Advanta wrapping up a month of fundraising
Cannock-based food packaging manufacturer, Advanta, has wrapped up a month of festive fundraising in aid of Katharine House Hospice.
The fundraising, which included a bake sale, car wash, Christmas jumper day and international cuisine afternoon, raised a grand total of £1,643 for the Staffordshire charity.
Staff from across the entire business got involved in fundraising activities. Office and manufacturing plant staff created cakes for bake sale and senior directors braved the cold for the car wash day. The efforts concluded in a formal cheque presentation between Advanta and representatives from Katharine House Hospice.
Advanta is one of the leading foil container manufacturers in Europe and has a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Cannock's Walkmill Lane.
"Our staff were particularly encouraged to support Katharine House Hospice, because the charity helps local people through some of the most difficult circumstances,” said Miguel Campos, export sales manager for Advanta.
"Our fundraising activities raised a staggering £1,643, which will support the vital work that Katharine House Hospice provides across Staffordshire.
“During the fundraising month, we’ve learned a lot from the team at Katharine House about how the charity’s staff and volunteers support the patients and their families make the most of their lives.”
“Since 1989, when Katharine House Hospice was first founded, we have always been extremely thankful of the support of our local community,” explained Holly Addison, corporate fundraiser at Katharine House. “We now have a day care unit, patient unit and a lymphoedema clinic which opened in 2002.
“Last year it cost £3 million to provide all the elements of our care. Everyone does their upmost to allow us to do what we do, and our staff and volunteers provide tremendous hard work and dedication to our cause. Without the support of our local community, we wouldn’t be able to provide the care that we are so dedicated to.”
