Chance for companies to shine
Organisers of this year's Signature Awards are looking to celebrating exceptional companies and business people despite growing political and economic uncertainty.
Now in their fifth year, the awards will take place on February 1, aiming to attract the movers and shakers from both the business and political worlds with the attendance of the brightest entrepreneurial talent in the wider region also in the room.
The deadline for the awards is the December 2 and founder Ninder Johal – a past president of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and current board member of both the West Midlands Growth Company and the Black Country LEP – says he is impressed by the quality of the nominations so far.
"Despite the uncertainty in the business community on the future of its relationship with the EU, there is still an element of confidence in the growth projections of the UK economy and it is in this vein that I see a similar pattern in the quality and quantity of the submissions to date," said Ninder.
"Although there are still some weeks to go, I would urge those who see an exceptional individual or business to put their names forward so that we can collectively celebrate the quality that the UK can rightly boast about. It is so important that we recognise both those who create wealth and those who enable the process of wealth creation to occur. The business and professional sector play such an important role in both the domestic and overseas markets.
"The UK brand is especially associated globally with innovation and creativity and for this reason we have included a category for innovation and enterprise and I am looking forward to seeing more applications from entrepreneurs too."
