'Tears, laughter and celebrations' - Hundreds gather for the Express & Star Business Awards 2025
Hundreds of guests gathered in Wolverhampton to celebrate their successes at last night's Express & Star Business Awards.
There were tears, laughter and celebrations as the awards ceremony shone a spotlight on the best businesses from across the region and their achievements during the past 12 months.
Over 300 people gathered at the Civic Hall in the University of Wolverhampton at The Halls complex for the black-tie dinner, which saw 12 category awards presented to delighted winners - including Walsave Credit Union, who were awarded overall business of the year.
Radio DJ PJ Ellis hosted the glittering event, which was attended by guests and representatives from businesses across the region.

"We're a small business, there's only seven of us, but we do big things," said delighted Walsave assistant manager Sarah Lote.
"It's what we do for the community, we've all been here a long time and we're like a family really.

"It's brilliant because we fly under the radar up against the big banks. We're just a little operation really but we treat our members like family and we know everyone who walks through the door. We see success stories and we go through the unhappy times too but we're always here to help."

Other category award winners included Briely Hill based Higgs LLP, who took the employee wellness award, and Gough Group who won family business of the year.
