Commercial feature: 'Huge honour' as Todd Engineering approaches completion of landmark installation at SeAH wind

Todd Engineering is proud to be entering the final stages of a monumental installation at the SeAH Wind facility in Teesside—the future home of the world’s largest offshore wind monopile manufacturing plant.

This nationally significant site is a cornerstone of the UK’s renewable energy ambitions and is set to play a crucial role in strengthening British manufacturing and offshore infrastructure.

Our involvement in this project includes the installation of three bespoke multifunctional coating cabins, each over 120 metres in length, engineered to process individual monopile sections. These enormous cabins enable shot blasting, metalizing, and spray painting to be completed within a single enclosed environment, optimising efficiency, maintaining critical environmental controls, and minimising downtime.

These facilities have been precisely configured to meet SeAH Wind’s advanced production needs, supporting the manufacture of monopiles up to 120 metres long and weighing over 3,000 metric tonnes. The integrated workflow within each cabin allows for continuous processing of components—boosting productivity while ensuring exceptional surface treatment standards required for offshore durability.

In addition to the cabins, our team has delivered a complete turnkey solution. This includes elevated plant rooms, extensive ducting systems, and centralised control infrastructure, all tailored to support the facility’s high-capacity, heavy-duty operations. Each system is installed to deliver peak performance, environmental efficiency, and operational safety at an industrial scale.

The prestige and national impact of this project were further underlined in February 2025, when His Majesty King Charles III visited the SeAH Wind site. The royal visit celebrated the project's progress and spotlighted its long-term significance for UK energy independence, job creation, and industrial revitalisation.

Lee Todd, Managing Director at Todd Engineering, commented: “It’s a huge honour to be part of such a landmark project for the UK’s renewable energy and manufacturing sectors.

"Projects of this scale reflect everything we stand for—engineering excellence, sustainable growth, and a commitment to delivering the very best for our partners. We’re proud of the team’s hard work and look forward to seeing the positive legacy this site will create.”

This installation reflects Todd Engineering’s ability to successfully deliver high-performance solutions at the very forefront of UK manufacturing. It also demonstrates our ongoing contribution to the nation’s push toward net zero—supporting renewable energy growth with sustainable, state-of-the-art infrastructure.

As the final fit-out progresses and commissioning nears, we are honoured to be part of a legacy project that will help shape the future of offshore wind power for generations to come.
