New Staffordshire dog business gets tails wagging with eco-friendly treats
A new canine business based in South Staffordshire is proving popular with people passionate about their pets.
Steph Gribble of Shareshill, who owns five dogs, has set up online store Canine Collection, selling a range of accessories such as dog coats, toys and harnesses.
“We make sure all our products are eco-friendly and our treats are vegan-based,” said Steph, who recently completed a free business start-up course with Good2Great.
“I keep things real and showcase life as a dog owner. I give advice and tips so even if people do not buy from me yet they can find a wealth of information on our pages.
“I was previously in a job that wasn't good for my mental health and I hated going to work by the end. I knew something had to change and I started to research businesses in the dog industry as I always had a passion for dogs and so Canine Collection was born and I have never looked back.
“It was the best thing I did and every day is fun and stress-free and I wish to keep it that way!”
The company has already won awards, will have a stand at Crufts and sponsors two youth football teams. In addition it donates a portion of sales to dog charities and attends charity dog events all over the UK to support and raise vital funds.
Steph’s ambition is to start her own charity foundation for homeless people with dogs which would cover basic vet bills.
She added: "The Good2Great start-up course gave me support and tools to enhance my operations in ways I did not think possible and opened my mind to new routes and paths to make my business grow in the future.”
The next workshops, which are delivered on behalf of South Staffs District Council and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will be held 11 and 12 February in Codsall and 4 and 5 March in Wombourne.
