Staffordshire manufacturing specialist confident of hitting sales targets in 2025
A Staffordshire based manufacturing outsourcing specialist is on track to hit £40 million of sales this year, bosses at the firm say.
The Chief Executive of PP Control & Automation (PP C&A) says international opportunities in the Scandinavian and Benelux regions and a focus on clean energy, data centres and agritech will drive the company to its target in 2025.
The Cheslyn Hay based company, which already works with twenty of the world’s largest machine builders, is looking to buck the economic negativity in the UK by achieving growth both at home and overseas.
"We see unique opportunities for partnerships overseas, particularly in Scandinavia, Belgium, Luxembourg and Holland, all of which are seeing growth in clean energy, agricultural and construction markets," said Tony Hague, CEO.
"A lot of this expansion has been brought about by government initiatives and programmes, yet these sectors have many of the same constraints as machine builders and OEMs in the UK and, importantly, we can help them overcome them.”
"Our strategic manufacturing outsourcing approach is rooted in more than 50 years of experience, and we combine this track record with an ongoing investment in our people and our technology, embracing AI where it can add real value to the client.
"With some of the discussions we are having at present, I would envisage we could easily turn existing opportunities into more than £5m of export business over the next twelve to eighteen months.”
Operating from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the West Midlands, PP Control & Automation helps machine builders develop technology used to robotically milk cows, provide everyday packaging solutions, protect your phones from water damage and cut parts that are used in F1 cars and the world’s aircraft.
Around 200 highly skilled staff are employed and have access to more than 200 hours of personal development and training every year, including at the company’s nationally recognised Bright Sparks university, a unique online learning platform.
"Collaboration is a major feature of how we operate. We understand our strengths and the difference we can make, but we know we can’t do everything ourselves and have decided to partner with likeminded organisations who bring a different skillset, contact book or knowledge to the table," he added.
"We did this initially with PP Plus, a 20+ network of manufacturing, tech, professional services and marketing specialists, all hand-picked to help early-stage innovators in the agritech sector bring new innovations to market. This includes advancing technologies in smart farming, biotechnology, and water-saving systems."
Clean Energy is another area that offers significant potential with demand growing from organisations involved in renewables, hydrogen, solar, wind, climate tech, batteries and grid updates.
PP C&A has responded by driving the launch of CESPA (Clean Energy Systems Partner Alliance), a pioneering collaboration of six companies including Danfoss, Emerson, Glacier Energy, Phoenix Contact and Voltserve.
It launches with its own dedicated website and marketing strategy in the next few weeks and CESPA will be present at leading clean energy trade shows and events, whilst aiming to become a thought leader in this space through articles, videos, webinar and open days.
"The UK has a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of green tech development, but we must strike quickly. This is exactly what we are trying to do, and this latest collaboration gives us the potential to offer a single-source solution to a lot of the challenges the sector is facing," added Tony.
