easyJet launches first flights from Birmingham to key ski and snowboarding destination

The first flight from Birmingham to Innsbruck took off yesterday morning and will now operate every Sunday until the end of March, which the company says will provide a convenient connection for those in the Midlands seeking a ski or snowboard holiday to some of Austria’s world-famous resorts.

The airline also recently announced new routes from Birmingham to Gran Canaria and Malta, as well as unique routes to Bordeaux and Gibraltar, as it responded to what it says is "strong demand" for services from Birmingham from Midlands based customers.

“Our new service from Birmingham to Innsbruck in Austria provides our customers with even more connections to some of Europe’s top ski resorts," said Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager.

“With demand for flights to the Austrian Alps taking off, we’re sure this fantastic new route will prove popular with our customers in the Midlands this winter season.”

Earlier this month, the company announced a £34m profit in its full-year results and said it was eyeing up extra routes from Birmingham after moving two extra aircraft into its Midlands hub.
