Cannock company recreates Love Actually at Christmas to help support charity
Staff at a company in Norton Canes have been causing a buzz on social media after creating their own version of a festive film favourite.
Materials handling equipment business, Briggs Equipment, launched a Love Actually parody to rival the likes of Aldi and John Lewis’ iconic Christmas adverts.
The video, which has amassed more than 10,000 views on Facebook in less than 24 hours, features the real stars of the business – their people.
The video opens with a nod to Bill Nighy’s iconic singing scene, with a version of Love Is All Around, sung by David Jewell, followed by a recreation of the unforgettable department store scene with Rowan Atkinson and Alan Rickman.
In this version, an over-the-top salesman - National Account Manager, Stuart Long - and an impatient customer, David Turner, desperate to buy a forklift find themselves in a race against time.
Briggs' Managing Director, Pete Jones, then performs the iconic Prime Minister dance scene made famous by Hugh Grant.
This is followed by a re-enacting of Andrew Lincoln and Keira Knightley's card scene follows before a montage of the company’s staff is shown, celebrating all the best moments from the holiday season to God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.
Briggs Equipment is using this video to support a worthy cause.
For every comment and share of the video across their social media channels, the company will donate £2 to their 2024 Charity Partner, Air Ambulances UK, with the goal of raising up to £2,000 for the charity.
“We’re incredibly proud of the team’s efforts in creating this festive video,” said Paige Muller, Communications Specialist at Briggs Equipment.
“It’s been a true team effort and a great way to showcase the talent, energy, and Christmas spirit of everyone at Briggs whilst raising vital funds for our 2024 Charity Partner, Air Ambulances UK.”
