SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY: Dudley marketing firm hopes to take on staff as it looks to expand
Dudley based digital marketing firm Eighty3 Creative says the Black Country is brimming with talent - and urged the region's businesses to back each other.
Director Amie Whale, who co-founded the agency in 2008, said she was 'optimistic' about the prospects for small businesses in the region, after the company exceeded both profit and turnover targets in the past financial year.
The company moved into it's existing offices in Burnt Tree in 2022 and has gone from strength to strength since, while Amie has also established a successful business networking forum in Willenhall at the home of non-league football club Sporting Khalsa.
"We've found moving here has created a lot of new enquiries and we're getting more known locally," she said.
"We've exceeded our turnover target and and exceeded our profit target for this year so that's gone really well.
"Small businesses supporting each other in the area creates a community between the businesses, and you create a referral network between you. What sometimes frustrates me is when you have businesses working with people in Manchester and London when there's a lot of talent within the region itself, and also hiring within the region too and making sure that everyone's got an opportunity to get a job and work in the black country."
The company has also successfully recruited an apprentice to help with the workload and is now eyeing up further expansion next year.
"We employ Rosie who's an apprentice within the business who we hired through an apprentice graduate scheme, and it's massively helped the business from a productivity perspective.
"We want to increase the staff in the business and take on more people, along with targeting more of the manufacturing companies in the area we're in. I think we've got a unique ability to help with our experience working with them, we know the industry and understand what they need for their marketing solutions."
