Free business start-up course helps Dudley taxi driver get the meter running
A free scheme to help new businesses in Dudley has put a taxi firm on the road to success.
Ammar Saleh has just completed a start-up course for entrepreneurs financed by Dudley Borough Council from the government’s shared prosperity fund and run by consultants Good2Great.
After attending the two-day workshops Ammar has launched AS Travels, providing transport and luggage assistance for university students.
“Our customers are primarily university students who need convenient and affordable transport options and travellers who want hassle-free airport transfers,” said Ammar, who is based in Halesowen.
“We also do school runs, hotel contracts, home care moving, weddings and long trips and our clients appreciate our safe, reliable service.
“The support from Good2Great was really appreciated and valued and I look forward to working with their consultants in the future as I expand my business.”
Up to 16 participants can take part in each free business start-up event.
The next workshops are being held in Brierley Hill Library on December 10 and 11.
Bridgnorth-based Good2Great is working with the council to deliver the package of support for small businesses to get them up and running with their ideas.
