easyJet will fly from Birmingham Airport to Gran Canaria and Malta in 2025, as part of a bumper package of 20 new routes from UK airports for next summer.

The announcement comes after the airline launched a further five routes from Birmingham to destinations in Europe and North Africa last week. It brings the number of destinations now served by easyJet to 35, with the company saying it continues to experience "strong demand" from customers in the Midlands after moving in to it's Birmingham Airport hub earlier this year.

“The addition of these popular island destinations, Gran Canaria and Malta, to our route map from Birmingham Airport provides our customers in the Midlands with more choice and great value when booking their European holidays next summer and we can’t wait to welcome them onboard," said Ali Gayward, easyJet's UK Country Manager.

The Gran Canaria service starts on May 2, 2025, in time for the May bank holidays, and will operate on Mondays and Fridays, while flights to Malta will take off from June, operating twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

“easyJet’s has continually grown its destination list since its base launch in March and today adds Gran Canaria and Malta to the list," said Tom Screen, Aviation Director at Birmingham Airport.

" easyJet now offers over 20 routes for Summer 2025 ensuring a variety of destinations for customers available from their local airport.”

The company added 22 new links to its network when it established its Birmingham base in March 2024, including to major destinations in Spain and Greece.
