The new double-storey restaurant at Acton Court, south of Stafford can seat 100 customers but will be opening for drive-thru, click and collect and delivery only while national restrictions are in place.

It is due to open on March 31.

It follows significant investment by local franchisee David Knight and will extend the number of restaurants he owns and operates in Cannock and wider Staffordshire to four.

Mr Knight said: “We are delighted to be expanding our operation into south Stafford, which is a new market for us. We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming customers into the restaurant.

Work is continuing on the new restaurant

"This restaurant is a new design and is the first of its kind in the UK. I would like to thank everyone who has helped bring the project to a reality over the past few months, enabling us to open safely during lockdown restrictions.”

The new restaurant will have all the latest innovations from McDonald’s, including self-service kiosks, digital menu boards and the option to order from the app.
