The appointments come after Ramfoam announced its £3 million investment into a larger, 50,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Oldbury, set to open next month.

The firm will also expand its operations in Dubai with a 100,000 sq ft facility to support new contract wins in the Middle East and Africa.

Mark Adams has joined the firm as Ramfoam’s head of UK sales, while Will Cross joined as head of international sales, Nigel Wood as sales account manager and Matt Stapleton as operations director.

Mark brings 20 years of sales management experience to the business, having previously worked in the oil and gas sector in Europe, the Middle East, China, the USA and Canada, where he’s been based for the past 10 years. His role at Ramfoam will be to restructure its sales division to improve its efficiency, and lead the company’s growth in UK markets though increased capabilities and new product lines.

Will joins Ramfoam with a global sales background, having worked extensively in international markets including South America, Europe, Africa, Middle and Far East. Originally trained in the military, Will also brings significant experience in engineering. His role will be focussed on leveraging and maximising new business opportunities in the Americas, Europe and the Far East, as well as building on the firm’s existing presence in the Middle East and Africa.

Nigel takes up the role of sales account manager at Ramfoam after working internationally for a global high precision manufacturing company. With a wealth of experience in assembly, service and sales, Nigel will be supporting customers, managing quotes and technical proposals, and contributing to the development of new product lines.

As Ramfoam’s new operations director, Matt brings significant experience. He has previously worked within world class manufacturing plants introducing best in practice operational procedures and sequencing multi plant activities. By taking over Ramfoam’s day-to-day operations, Matt will allow Ramfoam’s existing management staff to focus on more strategic aspects of the business.

Ramfoam’s new management team join after a busy year for the company, after it was awarded one of the largest DHSC PPE contracts in 2020 to manufacture protective facial visors for the NHS. The product has since been made widely available to mass UK markets.

The firm now plans to build on its core foam conversion offering by developing its manufacturing capabilities here in the UK. In Dubai, alongside these operations, Ramfoam’s increased capacity will enable production outputs to meet current demand, whilst providing additional capacity for the short-term future.

Alongside the expansion of its senior team, Ramfoam have also invested heavily in new, cutting edge technology, including systems and processes to support them with continued product innovation and development.

Phil Johnson, managing director at Ramfoam, said: “We’re delighted to have Mark, Will, Nigel and Matt on board; their combined sales and operations experience, including in international markets, will be hugely valuable to us as we embark on a journey of growth throughout 2021 and beyond.

“Their appointments, combined with our new facilities and additional investment into technology, will enable us to branch into new markets, both at home and abroad - making it a very exciting time for us as a business.”

Ramfoam is the UK’s leading manufacturer, converter and supplier of polyurethane and polyethylene foam. It was established as a privately owned SME in 1995 and operates two sites serving the UK and Europe, and one in Dubai which serves the Middle East and Africa.
