Wrights Plastics’ pod comes flat packed and is designed to assemble in minutes. The design includes a clear acrylic panel with hatch and shelf to support contactless testing.

The product is another example of the manufacturer’s determination to use its 50 years acrylic fabrication experience to support companies throughout the pandemic.

A range of sneeze screens and hygiene guards has seen sales of more than 50,000 worldwide.

The Government has identified rapid lateral flow testing as helping prevent the spread of coronavirus and helping businesses, schools and many other organisations operate as safely as possible. Rapid testing using lateral flow tests, aims to help protect those at highest risk. Around 1 in 3 people who have coronavirus have no symptoms and may be unknowingly spreading the virus. On February 7 the Government announced that the rapid testing programme was expanded to include organisations with 50 or more employees

Andy Watkins, the company’s commercial director said “Mass on site testing is being rolled out to many companies and we believe the pods are a low cost way for them to set up a ‘testing centre’ that will help make testing safer, faster and easier.

“The pod can be used as a standalone or joined together. They are easy to assemble and just as easy to take down and re-use in a different part of the site or in another location altogether.

“The protective qualities of acrylic has become clear throughout the pandemic – the pods are easy to clean and sanitise” he explained.
