Jobs boost as business looks to expand
New jobs could be created if a Walsall windows firm’s plans to expand its business are given the go ahead.
Pelsall Windows and Glass Ltd, of Rollingmill Street, wanted to create extra showroom facilities as well as enhance offices at the site where the company has been for more than 20 years.
If the plans are approved, it could create an four full time and two part time jobs at the firm.
Bosses said the current showroom wasn’t sufficient for presenting its range of stock to customers.
In the application, they said: “Pelsall Windows and Glass Limited have been in business in Walsall since 1989 and have occupied the application site since 1999.
“There is at present a small, but limited, showroom for conservatories and it is felt that the expanding business requires more dedicated showroom areas for customers to fully appreciate the scale and diversity of the conservatory/porch/orangery market.
“The proposed premises will occupy the existing building footprint but with an enlarged first floor for showroom and offices and a new second floor dedicated to a showroom area.
“Private car using customers have a dedicated off road parking areas within the site and there is no difficulty with vehicular access from Rolling Mill Street.
“The present site access is used daily by both cars and transport vehicles and is accessible to emergency services.
“Customers who will have to use public transport network to visit the premises can travel to the site from Walsall town centre bus station and will be able to disembark close to the premises on Pleck Road.
“Pedestrian access to the site will be via a dedicated entrance gate.”
