Ladder hopes for awards recognition
The Ladder for the Black Country hopes to see the exceptional efforts of businesses and training providers in the area during this tough year recognised at the Annual Apprenticeship Conference.
It is supporting the AAC apprenticeship awards for 2021 with the winners due to be announced at the AAC gala dinner and awards night on April 27.
This year Ladder member Performance Through People in Walsall won in two categories – health and science apprenticeship provider of 2020 and transport and logistics apprenticeship provider of apprenticeships 2020.
In 2019 Ladder members In-comm won apprenticeship provider of the year and Skills Training UK won outstanding contribution to the development of apprenticeships (provider).
This year the Ladder wants to encourage local businesses and providers to nominate themselves for the prestigious national awards.
Progression
Ladder co-ordinator Anne Moore said: “Our businesses have done a remarkable job to get from one end of this year to the other.
“We think they deserve to be recognised for the extra efforts they have put in to support apprenticeships here in the Black Country.”
Training providers need to have shown sustained commitment to working with employers, evidence of high levels of learner retention, progression and positive outcomes and to have displayed high quality teaching/tutoring throughout for their apprentices.
The 15 categories in the national awards include: business and administration, care services, catering and hospitality, construction, digital, engineering and manufacturing, hair and beauty and transport and logistics.
