The club's all-time record goal scorer, who netted 306 goals, was on hand to mark the reopening of Jones of Shropshire, based in Pattingham, near Wolverhampton.

The store, based on the B4176 road, has doubled in floor space allowing more items to go on display for customers.

Bully, as the 55-year-old is affectionately known by fans, also scored a few good purchases during his visit to the shop.

Mike Jones, 36, from Wightwick, who runs the store, said items on sale range from military souvenirs to French antiques, grandfather clocks and porcelain items, also known as China.

There are also bargain items costing just a few pounds.

Mr Jones, who bought the business five months back, said: "It was amazing to have Bully come down. He is like a local celebrity.

"Everybody knows who he is around the area. He is just a down to Earth bloke.

"I bought the business a couple of months back and we have just had the roof done, so it has expanded.

"That is what today is all about, reopening the store. It is the length of the building that has changed, it is the roof that need replacing, which is what we have done.

"We have probably got about twice as much selling space now.

"I have got another removal business, where we do clearance work, so with the clearance work we have got somewhere to bring the stuff and sell it to the general public."

He continued: "It is definitely not the easiest time to open a business. No one knows what is going to happen or if we are going to have another lockdown.

"We have got a wide variety of items on sale. There is different traders that rent different spaces. It can be anything from militarily items to French antiques.

"One of the traders owns a house in France. She goes over once a month just to bring French antiques back, so we have got a constant supply of stuff you can't normally get in the UK.

"Bully bought a few items as well."
