The independent financial advisory business headed up by Alison Bradley, Steve Harris, and Chris Brown has raised more than £300 million in business finance and grant funding and supported job creation and job continuation over the last decade for the Midlands regions.

Central Business Finance’s managing director Alison said: “We started at the height of the economic downturn in 2010. Perhaps a risky time to start a new venture? However, with a genuine desire to help businesses to raise the finance that they need, there was no better time than to start when we did. It was a time when many funders had left the market and it was increasingly difficult for business owners to raise the funds they needed from the banks.”

CBF has been instrumental in keeping the Midlands moving over the past 10 years with millions of pounds of finance and grant funding awarded to businesses including A & T Enclosures, Barkley Plastics, Witley Jones Furniture and Oosha IT.

More than 5,000 businesses have been supported in total.

Reflecting on the latest economic environment, and probably one of the most challenging environments Central Business Finance have ever faced, Alison added: “It’s been a tough year for businesses and at Central Business Finance our feet have barely touched the ground, reaching out to clients new and old with support. In March, when the pandemic first hit the UK we knew we had a responsibility to all those businesses we have ever supported to continue trading – especially safeguarding jobs we helped create. I am proud to say we have supported over 300 businesses in the past six months to access funding to continue trading.

“The key to our business model is a great team who have extensive backgrounds in the business finance arena, from banking, underwriting, asset finance, commercial property, R &D Tax Credits, and public sector grant funding. Along with incredible relationships built up over years with our introducers, lenders, and of course our clients who return to us when they need us.

"Things may have changed over the years, but our purpose remains the same: to help businesses to raise better business finance.”

Central Business Finance has a mix of commercial finance advisors, banking professionals, funding experts, asset and property finance experts to provide clients with opportunities during a pandemic.
