TSB branches in Aldridge, Old Hill and Albrighton, are to close in the new year.

They are among 164 branches the bank is shutting as more people move to online banking.

Anchor Road, Aldridge, is lined up for closure on February 25 and Halesowen Road, Old Hill, on May 26.

The branch in High Street, Albrighton, near Wolverhampton, will also shut on January 12.

The closure programme will see the loss of around 900 jobs at the bank which has its headquarters in Edinburgh.

The closures will leave it with 290 branches.

The Spanish-owned bank said the cuts have been driven by a “significant shift in customer behaviour”, as fewer people use branches and instead favour online banking.

The company, which is based in Edinburgh, had previously said it intended to reduce the size of its branch network but it has now accelerated plans amid the pandemic.
