The card is being launched to help encourage people to visit, shop, dine and stay locally.

People will be able to find out about the special offers and discounts on the Visit Lichfield website.

All participating businesses will have stickers in their window, so passers-by know they are taking part.

Card holders will simply need to show their card to the participating business to receive the special offer or discount.

The free Visit Lichfield Card is available to anyone and can be applied for online or in person at Lichfield’s Visitor Information Centre in St Mary’s on the Market Square.

To celebrate the launch, Lichfield District Council’s cabinet member responsible for tourism, Councillor Iain Eadie, visited four of the local venues that have put forward special offers, which fall under the headings of ‘visit’, ‘shop’, ‘dine’ and ‘stay’. It included a trip to Lichfield Antiques Centre, which is offering 10 percent off most items over £20.
