All of the regular and established traders are set to return to the market, off Market Place, on Friday and Saturday.

The market will then return again on Wednesday, July 1.

Under recent Government guidance, Willenhall Market's return marks another important step of the gradual reopening of markets across the Black Country, as well as the return of non-essential shops and businesses which all closed in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Councillor Adrian Andrew, deputy leader of Walsall Council, said: "We are pleased that Willenhall – the last of our three markets, is poised for a return this Friday, June 26.

"This will come as good news to its regular traders and shoppers.

“We have been working to open all our markets, in line with the Government guidance and we thank our traders and customers for their continued patience and cooperation.

"Trader and shopper safety is an absolute priority, so prior to their re-openings – all market stalls have been subject to stringent council risk assessments.

"As trading resumes and progresses, these safety measures will continue to be monitored and reviewed.”
