Town's market to reopen in Staffordshire

A Staffordshire town's market will reopen to shoppers after it was closed due to coronavirus.

Penkridge Market, which is held in Pinfold Lane, Penkridge, will reopen on June 3, it has been announced.

A spokesman for the market said: "We are delighted to announce that, following consultation with our local council environmental health officer our reopening plan has been approved.

"We will publish information for visitors over the next few days."

The market closed down on the back of Government guidance. It has affected the weekly markets held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, alongside special events like the children's market and bank holiday market.
