Second Aldi opening in Willenhall creating 28 jobs
A new Aldi store is set to open in Willenhall next month creating 28 jobs.
The new 1,254 sq m supermarket will open in between South Street and New Street at 8am on December 5.
The new shop will be run by store manager Lisa Kilmister and become the second Aldi to open in Willenhall this year after the Coppice Farm Way branch opened in August.
The first 30 customers through the door will receive a free bag of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s Super 6 range.
To celebrate the store opening, Aldi staff will be joined by Olympic bronze medallist Marcus Ellis to cut the ribbon on opening morning.
Ms Kilmister, said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store on South Street.
"It’s set to be a special day as we’ll be celebrating the opening of Aldi’s second store in Willenhall and having Olympic hero Marcus Ellis join us will make it a morning to remember.”
The new Aldi store is calling on local charities and food banks in Willenhall to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in their community, to receive regular donations of surplus food from the supermarket.
Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to five days a week.
Any charities in the area that would like to partner up with the new Aldi store should email aldi@neighbourly.com
The new store will be open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
