Hope over talks on Debenhams future in Wolverhampton
Mander Centre bosses are continuing to try to persuade Debenhams to stay in Wolverhampton, MPs have said following a "productive" meeting with shopping centre officials.
City MPs Pat McFadden and Eleanor Smith met with Mander Centre owners Benson Elliot on Friday for an update on the current position on the Debenhams store, which is facing closure.

It is hoped bosses of the high street giant can be convinced to stay in Wolverhampton, with a smaller store one of the options being considered.
Mr McFadden said: "They are in ongoing discussions with Debenhams to see if there is any prospect of the store staying in Wolverhampton, even in an altered form. If that isn’t possible we still want to see productive use of that site."
Ms Smith said: “The meeting was productive and it is good that Benson Elliot are having talks with Debenhams and the council to try and get a decent outcome from this situation. It is important there is good dialogue between all parties, and that Benson Elliot explores all options for the Mander Centre."
