Plans have been submitted for plots 9 and 10 at Beacon Business Park in Weston Road.

The full planning application is for engineering and assembly workshops, storage and hire of plant and commercial vehicles, ancillary office, welfare and training facilities, car parking and site landscaping with new access.

The site will be used for the assembly of specialist railway maintenance equipment if the plans are approved.

In the plans it says: "Building heights are two and three storeys. The main workshops, located in the two projecting wings, are single storey in floorspace terms but occupy a two storey height within the building structure owing to the need to accommodate high level craning facilities.

"A total of 150 staff will be employed at the site."

The plans include 143 car parking spaces, 50 lights good vehicle spaces and cycle spaces.

The site is currently industrial land and Stafford Borough Council will consider the plans in the coming weeks.
