Call for landowners to put forward sites for new housing and businesses
Landowners and farmers with redundant buildings are being asked to consider putting their sites forward for housing and employment development in Cannock Chase.
Cannock Chase Council is updating its Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment which identifies land suitable for future housing developments and is calling for new sites and updates to existing information.
The council is also is looking for new employment sites to update its Employment Land Availability Assessment which is for economic development.
Nick Williams, planning consultant with leading property and business firm Berrys, said: “If you have got land or a redundant farmstead or buildings in, or next to, a settlement we can help promote the property on your behalf.
“This call for sites is an opportunity for farmers, landowners and developers to maximise property values and we can assist them in selecting the best sites to put forward that will most likely meet the council’s requirements.
“There may also be a chance to revisit a site that has previously been unsuccessful for development."
The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment and Employment Land Availability Assessment documents are updated annually to identify land that is suitable and available to meet future housing and employment requirements within Cannock Chase District.
Representations should be made by March 8 to be considered in this year’s assessment.
The council is currently undertaking a review of it Local Plan and so now would be the optimum time to identify available land for development.
