More than 200 jobs on offer at Birmingham Airport with Jet2
Airline and tour operator Jet2 is creating more than 200 new jobs at Birmingham Airport as it recruits 3,000 people across UK and Europe.
And the company is hosting a recruitment roadshow at Arden Hotel in Birmingham tomorrow for jobseekers to meet with staff from Jet2.com and find out about the vacancies.
It comes on the back of a bumper summer season for the company with its biggest ever programme of flights and holidays. In Birmingham the company is aiming to boost capacity next summer by more than 25 per cent, with over 1.6 million seats on sale.
As part of the expanding programme from the Midlands gateway, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are launching three new destinations from Birmingham: Bourgas in Bulgaria, Izmir in Turkey and Chania in Crete.
To support this growth the company is looking to recruit people to fill 100 cabin crew positions and more than 100 ground operations positions at Birmingham Airport, in addition to vacancies in flight deck roles.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “This is our biggest ever recruitment drive at Birmingham Airport, and once again demonstrates our commitment to investing in our customers and in people’s careers. The success of our award-winning business is down to the hard work of our fantastic colleagues, and we are looking forward to meeting passionate people to join our expanding team.”
Tom Screen, acting aviation director of Birmingham Airport said: “Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has grown significantly since starting in March 2017 at Birmingham Airport. The airline initially started with four based aircraft but by summer 2019 this will increase to 10. This large recruitment drive is testament to the huge success that the airline has experienced at Birmingham, largely aided by the wide choice of routes available and the great customer service of the team.”
In total more than 3,000 jobs are up for grabs across the UK and Europe in a variety of positions to support the company’s growth, 200 of them in the UK.
