Richard Scharenguivel, who was the deputy general manager of Birmingham's Bullring for 10 years, has just been appointed as the Mander Centre continues to undergo a £25 million redevelopment.

The transformation will see a 94,000 sq ft Debenhams store open in October and ten additional units created.

Richard’s role will now be to work closely with retail partners to drive the performance of the centre.

Richard said: “I am delighted to be working with the experienced and committed team at the Mander Centre and look forward to working with retailers and business partners to help make it one of ‘the’ retail destinations in the region.”

Estate agents Cushman & Wakefield manages the Mander Centre on behalf of Benson Elliot.

Liz Steele, partner at Cushman & Wakefield commented on the appointment and said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard to the Mander Centre team. He joins at a very exciting time for the centre and brings experience, enthusiasm and a proven track record in retail management.”
