Boss website wins awards for Bareface
A new website for a Dudley furniture company has seen a leading regional advertising agency scoop a brace of gongs at an industry awards event.
Bareface, based in Birmingham, has landed two Gold-Excellence gongs in the 2017 Communicator Awards run by the US-based Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA).
The company won for the Myriad website it designed and built for Boss Design Group – a high end office furniture manufacturer based in Dudley and with clients around the world – which was singled out because of its visual appeal/aesthetics, and clever use of a hot technique in web design.
This was the 23rd annual Communicator Awards - with over 6,000 entries received from the US and around the globe – and it’s the world’s largest and most competitive awards programme (the ‘Oscars’ for the industry) honouring creative excellence for communications professionals.
Bareface MD Simon Morris said: “To have won not one but two Gold-Excellence Awards in a field as competitive as this and judged by some of the industry’s top talent is an incredible achievement for the team. AIVA membership represents a 'Who's Who' of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including Condè Nast, Disney, Estee Lauder, Lockheed Martin, Monster.com, MTV, Time Inc., Tribal DDB, Victoria’s Secret, Yahoo! to name but a few.
“We were very skilled at how we integrated a parallax web scrolling effect, which involves the background moving at a slower rate to the foreground, creating a 3D effect as you scroll down the page. Befitting the client, we also created a minimalist, easy to navigate, yet stylish user interface, because visual aesthetic is very important for Boss Design.”
Myriad is a range of modular office furniture by Boss Design that's designed to be flexible and reconfigurable, allowing you to build your own working spaces as you see fit. As part of its work on the launch, Bareface created a site showcasing Myriad's infinite possibilities with clever use of parallax elements - pulling in inspiring arrangements of furniture as you explore the site.
Bareface also won a silver award for the W3 awards at the end of last year for the same work. Plus it merited a full feature article in net magazine (the premier publication for web development and design) on the USPs of its build and functionality.
Recent Bareface business wins include the account for Semilac UK, a provider of hybrid nail polishes and salon accessories with its headquarters in Solihull, for digital, advertising, creative and social.
