Creating a group with a combined £6m turnover and 40 staff, the deal is part of N-Trust’s growth strategy, which will be delivered through increased investments and further acquisitions.

N-Trust, led by founder and managing director John Coyne and majority shareholders Gary Dewhurst and Mark Roberts – founder and managing director of national recruiter, gap Personnel Group – will now undertake a four-month strategic review of Birmingham-based PCB to support its immediate investment and acquisition plans and position the company for future growth.

PCB, which was founded by Rosalind Payne in 1986, is a major independent staffing provider for the specialist social care, child care, social work and home care sectors. With offices in Birmingham, Coventry and London, it provides a mix of temporary, contract, interim and permanent staff to the industry.

Rosalind will remain with the business as chairwoman with operations director Gill Forward responsible for the PCB’s day-to-day activities.

The acquisition, in addition to increasing its scope of services, N-Trust, which has its offices in Wolverhampton, Stoke and Birmingham, also will enable the company to extend its existing offering further across the Midlands and into the South of England.

N-Trust, which holds Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration, has become a key partner to the West Midlands’ Health and Social Care communities. Working with a cross section of the region’s care sector, from hospitals and social housing groups to supported living facilities and day care services, the company provides temporary and permanent recruitment and training services.

Supporting N-Trust on the acquisition was business advisor Kourosh Mehrabani from Manchester-based KM Business Advisory Ltd.

John Coyne said: “N-Trust and PCB have significant synergies as well as distinctive services, which will enable us to deliver a more comprehensive offering to the UK care sectors. Both businesses are well-established in their respective markets and as a combined group of companies we will further build upon their success.”

Gary Dewhurst added: “This is a transformational deal for N-Trust, which is the next stage of our planned growth of the business that will include further acquisitions and investments. PCB is an outstanding company, which has a superb reputation in the Midlands and South of England care markets.

“I am delighted that Rosalind is staying on as chairwoman as she, along with her talented group of directors, managers, recruiters and support staff, has, over the last 30 years, built a leading-edge brand and business.”
