Historic Tipton mill goes under the hammer for £150,000
An historic building in Tipton that started life as a a flour mill and later become a Conservative club is to go under the online hammer.
Tipton's Union Flour Mill in Union Street was built in 1840 and will be coming to market on June 28 and 29 in the internet auction.
Richard Reed, head of property at John Pye Property, said: “We are looking forward to putting this property up for auction, it has beautiful characteristics from its time as both a flour mill between 1840 and 1909 - before becoming a base for Tipton Conservative Club and a thriving social club.
“With a guide price of £150,000 and set on 0.36 acres it has a lot of potential for future development but must remain in use as a social club due to a restriction on the land registry title.”
The main brick Tipton Conservative Club building is of two storeys and is part of John Pye Property’s biggest ever auction featuring £7.5 million of property.
The social club currently houses a darts room, snooker room, a bar area, function suite, office, fitted kitchen, three cellars, beer patio and a store area. It also has living accommodation upstairs with three-double bedrooms, walk in shower room, lounge and kitchen.
