Cygnia acquired by SecureData in cybersecurity takeover deal
A Black Country technology company has been bought by a leading UK cybersecurity group.
Cygnia Technologies, based at Black Country House in Oldbury, has now become part of the SecureData group. The price tag on the deal has not been revealed but all staff have kept their jobs and become part of the expanded group.
For the 2016 calendar year Cygnia reported sales of circa £9m. As well as its Oldbury office the company, which has been operating since 2007, has a base in central London. It employs around two dozen people.
Both companies specialise in cyber security. SecureData, based in Maidenhead, was established in 1992 and now has revenues approaching £50m.
In a joint statement they said: "Both organisations are well known to each other and share many of the same partnerships with the world’s leading cybersecurity equipment and software manufacturers."
