Whitesnake star to open bigger Fair Deal Music store
Rock legend Bernie Marsden, a founder member of Whitesnake, is performing the honours at the opening of Fair Deal Music's new home in Birmingham.
The city's biggest independent musical equipment store is moving to bigger 7,000 sq ft premsies in Concorde House, Holloway Head, after securing funding from Barclays. The store celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is moving just 500 yards from its old home in Smallbrook Queensway,
The business supplies a range of musical instruments and accessories to musicians all over the UK and says the move will enableit to further expand its current range of stock, including the biggest selection of electric and acoustic pianos in the region.
The official opening of the new store is taking place on Saturday by Bernie Marsden, who will be performing live and will available for meet and greet afterwards. Fair Deal Music will also be offering customers the opportunity to have their photograph taken at their special Marshall wall and photo booth.
To mark the move Fair Deal will be running a series of free prize giveaways via its Facebook page throughout the month of May which will include guitar, piano, drums and amplifiers along with signed memorabilia by famous artists.
Director Balraj Singh said: “I am really pleased that we are marking our 30th anniversary with the move to our new premises. This will enable us to display many more musical instruments for our loyal and new customers. We are delighted that Bernie Marsden has agreed to open the premises for us, which will know will be really appealing to a number of our customers.”
He also revealed plans for the current store, which he plans to turn into a specialist drum, pro audio and DJ showroom.
Funding for the move was provided by Barclays. Leonard Sharples, business manager at Barclays in Birmingham said: “Fair Deal Music have steadily grown the business over the years and can now boast a dedicated, loyal customer base. I am really pleased that we have been able to support them with the purchase of these premises which will provide a great platform on which Balraj can further grow the business.”
