17-year-old Rebecca Dodd from Wolverhampton applied for the society’s apprenticeship programme after finishing her GCSE's at South Wolverhampton & Bilston Academy. She joins the society’s branch team and hopes to pursue a mortgage or finance career at the Tipton once she’s completed her NVQ Level 2 qualification in customer service, which she's studying at Sandwell College.

Rebecca said: “This apprenticeship is allowing me to learn on the job and continue with my studies. I'm enjoying building working relationships with my colleagues as well as learning and developing new skills."

Richard Newton, the Tipton’s chief executive, added: “Apprenticeships are an important way for businesses to grow and develop by bringing in young talent and giving them the opportunity to become important members of the team. We recruited our first apprentice - Alex Swingewood - last year and I'm pleased to say he's now a full time member of staff. I'll follow Rebecca's progress with interest and hope that she enjoys the same level of success."
