Revenue grows for Rank Group

The Rank Group, which includes Mecca and Grosvenor Casinos, enjoyed like-for-like revenue growth across all brands in the six months to the end of December.

Revenue rose three per cent to £374.2 million with adjusted pre-tax profit up four per cent to £37.4m. On a like-for-like basis revenue grew by five per cent

There was continued strong digital revenue growth of 14 per cent.

Grosvenor Casinos, which includes a site in Walsall, saw revenue rise seven per cent to £219m and Mecca's retail bingo business, which includes sites in Bilston, Brierley Hill, Oldbury, Wednesbury and West Bromwich, was up two per cent on a like-for-like basis to £143m.

Two new format bingo clubs are planned to be opened in this summer.

Henry Birch, chief executive of Rank, said: "I am very pleased to announce a good set of results with like-for-like revenue growth across all brands and channels."

He added that 2016 would see the group deliver significant new platforms, new functionality and new products - including a new digital platform, a new retail casino management system, new poker and sports betting products and a new retail bingo format.
