It expect that the underlying revenue trend in the second half of the year will be similar to that in the first, reflecting the ongoing challenging market conditions.

The group's pre-tax profit for the full year is expected to be between £250 million and £270m at average exchange rates.

Chief executive Chris Weston said: "Aggreko continues to demonstrate its resilience against a challenging market backdrop and I am pleased that we are maintaining our guidance for 2015 full year profit before tax."

Rental Solutions revenue was down 1% on last year and Power Solutions 11% lower.

Aggreko has increased capital expenditure plans for the current year and now anticipates spending around £250 million on fleet, up from £226m last year.
