North Valley Forge makes and sells its gates, railings, balcones and staircases at its factory and showroom in Nelson, Lancashire, but branched out into the Midlands in March.

Sales director Darren Weatherill said: "Quality always sells and our recent expansion in the West Midlands is on course to do £1 million of business in its first year."

The company says the West Bromwich showroom is the largest of its kind in Europe and includes full-size working displays highlighting the comprehensive range of gate automation and access control.

North Valley Forge have been at the forefront of British ironwork for over 30 years, supplying high-end iron gates, gate automation and access control solutions to the public.

The company mixes innovative design with age-old blacksmithing techniques and modern engineering.

The company has now moved into exports, opening trade links with Nigeria and Hong Kong and concluding major contracts in Japan and the United Arab Emirates.

North Valley Forge products range from the utilitarian to the intricate, including one of the tallest, wrought iron gates in Great Britain - hand-forged and 5.5 metres high. Fitted with a Videx GSM device, it can be opened and closed from anywhere in the world from a mobile phone.

"Teamwork is going to be key for us," said Darren Weatherill. "As we take the business forward and expand the way we want to, everyone at North Valley forge will play their part – from marketing to manufacture. I have no doubt that, given the enthusiasm and talent within the company, we will be successful in doing so."
