Safety awards for Nuttall's Heathrow T2 work
Shopfitting and interior display company Alan Nuttall is working on a string of projects in Heathrow Airport's T2 terminal as part of a £2.5 billion development scheme.
The new Terminal 2 will contain 69 retail outlets and Nuttall's currently runs eight projects on site; three World Duty Free stores, three Eurest catering outlets and two Excess Baggage outlets.
The Dudley-based company has wide experience within airport development, both airside and landside, having successfully completed over 60 airport-based projects over the past 12 years, including work at Heathrow, Birmingham International, Manchester, East Midlands and Dublin City.
Nuttall's has now achieved recognition for its consistently high standards of health and safety across its work at Heathrow Airport, winning the Retail Site Safety Award three times since August.
Martin Rayner, head of retail delivery on Terminal 2, said: "Heathrow is one of the safest construction sites in the UK so it is a fantastic achievement by the Nuttall team to win the T2 Retail Safety Award three times out of the last four months.
"Nuttall's have consistently achieved very high standards of health and safety on all of their sites across T2; this is a clear indication to Heathrow that Nuttall's have safety as a core business value."
Simon Frith, Nuttall's operations director, added: "Working in an operating airport comes with its own unique challenges, as this development is set in the parameters of one of the world's largest airports. To get materials, 3,000 operatives and contractors on site and working to programme is a challenge, when there are so many projects happening at the same time."
"We are honoured to be recognised by Heathrow Airport, whose health and safety regime is set at the highest standard."
