Repose poised to double turnover after factory move
A family-run firm that makes chairs is ready for further growth after completing a move to a new factory in Cradley Heath.
The 23,500 sq ft unit in Cokeland Place has seen a return to the town where it was formed in 1999 for Repose Furniture.
Repose which had outgrown its premises in Brick Kiln Street, Brierley Hill, where it had been since 2001, is now poised to double its turnover.
The move came after the company announced its was expecting to achieve a 21 per cent increase in turnover for its current financial year. It has enabled seating specialist Repose to expand both its manufacturing facility and help it to meet an increase in demand from healthcare providers nationwide.
Managing director Lisa Wardley said that Repose was set to achieve even further growth as it approaches its 15th anniversary next year.
"We have experienced a really fantastic year which has been topped off with our factory move, enabling us to increase our production capabilities. As we approach our 15th anniversary next year we are set for even further growth and are on track to double our turnover as we increase our sales efforts further."
Repose puts its success down to constant innovation and key strategic partner distributors in each region of the UK, with emphasis placed on a quality product, delivered on time and at a competitive price.
The new factory provides three times the space of its previous premises and the move has already brought a number of new jobs to increase number to 32 with the company hopeful of recruiting up to 10 new employees in the coming months within its upholstery, wood mill and labour departments.
The business has set ambitious targets to grow each of its regional territories, which will result in the company doubling its turnover in the next few years.
Repose, which began as a two-man operation, has consistently trialled and tested its range of specialist seating solutions and led the way in product innovation within the healthcare industry. The most recent product launched by the company is its Stargazer chair; a chair that converts easily into a bed, helping to solve the problem of short term bed provision in care homes and clinics nationwide.
David Elcocks, production director of Repose Furniture is excited about broadening the company's specialist seating range even further in the coming months. "Our investment in our new production, machinery and showroom facilities will prove a major factor in our future success. It has allowed us to continue to innovate at a rate that the market demands and has given us the space we need in order to test new designs and furniture that will continue to make life easier for mobility patients nationwide," he added.
Repose was started by Lisa and David's father John Elcocks who still has a hand in the running of the company.
