The cycle gas turbine facility is being earmarked for Meaford Business Park, the site of the former coal-fired Meaford Power Station, between Stone and Stoke.

Meaford Energy Limited is behind the scheme. The power station will use gas and steam to produce electricity.

St Modwin purchased the site of the former Meaford Power Station nine years ago but the land has remained undeveloped.

Draft plans will go on public display at three consultation events in Meaford on Wednesday, Stone on Thursday, and in Barlaston on Friday.
