Huf UK, Tipton – top choice for customers and for staff

From automated plastic injection moulding and painting, through to assembly and despatch, it really does offer a 'one shop' experience to all its customers – who, amongst others, include Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes, BMW and Volvo.

With its prime location on the A41 in Tipton, Huf UK has excellent transport links to the motorway network and major roads in the West Midlands which ensure that its products reach their destination quickly, efficiently and on time – a top priority to every customer.

Huf UK has a multi-cultural workforce of currently 305, some of whom have been with the company almost from the start of production at its former location in Willenhall. They are not – and never have been – regarded as just a number on the headcount sheet; they are treated throughout the company with the utmost respect, dignity and trust – hence the reason for it having many long-service employees.

Their workplace is safe and environmentally friendly and this year Huf UK has been awarded the Platinum Plus Award by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.

The award was made because the company has exceeded ISO 14001 standards and continues to demonstrate a year-on-year continuous improvement in developing environmental solutions in the manufacturing sector.

All Huf UK's employees have the opportunity to increase their skill level in their chosen field as was borne out by the recent awarding of NVQ qualifications to both staff and shop floor employees. This is in addition to an internal Management Development Programme.

Last year Huf UK re-introduced a graduate and apprentice recruitment programme and will be embarking on the selection process for their 2013 recruits over the coming weeks. Internships with a unique concept are also on offer to students from the Q3 Academy in Sandwell and the interview process for the next intake will begin shortly.

These schemes encompass all departments within the company and have been very well received, with last year's recruits happily established and all progressing well in their chosen areas.

As in the past, Huf UK will continue to play a vital role within the worldwide Huf Group which has more than 7,000 employees and an annual turnover of more than 1 billion euros.

Huf UK is a centre of 'know-how' and, as such, receives many visitors both from Huf headquarters in Velbert, Germany and also from sister companies located throughout the world who want to learn from the wealth of knowledge and experience on hand – for example in plastic injection moulding, painting and assembly.

The company is currently working towards long-term series production of large volume additional supply to Daimler and Jaguar Land Rover.

For the first time Huf UK will soon start to ship product to BMW Mini in Oxford.
