Takeover deals are in sight for two stores in the Black Country that closed when a flooring firm went into administration – but others face an uncertain future, it has been revealed today.

Interested parties have come forward for the Floors-2-Go sites in Brierley Hill and Great Barr. But administrators are still searching for someone to take over stores in Wolverhampton, Bilston and Walsall.

They say that the landlords of those stores have so far refused offers for the leases to be surrendered – meaning they could stay unused for months to come.

Administrators Senate Recovery said they were in negotiations over premises in Pedmore Road, Brierley Hill, and Aldridge Road, Great Barr.

The landlords have surrendered the leases for both sites and potential new tenants are being lined up, said Jeremy Bowden, a director at administrators Senate.

He would not reveal the names of the firms that are interested or what line of business they are in for fear of jeopardising the deals.

He said he remained positive that the former shops inside furniture store Our Place in Loxdale Street, Bilston, in Eagle Street, Wol-verhampton, and in Green Lane, Walsall, will be taken over at some point.

So far there have been no expressions of interest for the Wolverhampton and Bilston units. Three inquiries were made about Walsall but have not developed into a deal.

Mr Bowden said: "We are hoping before long that the premises in Brierley Hill and Great Barr will be taken over.

"They are going through the process at the moment and the indications are that there are tenants willing to take over."
