Shop on way at showroom

A former car showroom in Staffordshire is set to be transformed into a bargain shop, creating five jobs.

Businessman Rob Hardy is buying K & G Garages on Longford Road, Bridgtown, Cannock which has stood derelict since last summer. He plans to open a branch of his Hardys For Everything store by February.

An application for planning permission has been lodged with Cannock Chase Council. Mr Hardy, aged 70, said: "It is the same as we have done in Telford with a former car showroom. We sell goods from 50p to £400 including gardening and household items."
