More stores shut up shop
Two iconic shops in the West Midlands are closing for good.
Family-run Wolverhampton men's outfitters Albert Williams Menswear is shutting after nearly 80 years but bosses insisted the decision had nothing to do with the credit crunch.
Elsewhere, Stafford's Wardstaff Electrics in Bridge Street has gone into liquidation and shut after more than 30 years.
The shop, which ran a maintenance service for household appliances, was refurbished last year after new owners Dave O'Brien and Andy Watts bought it from founder Roger Longstaff.
In Wolverhampton, Albert Williams' managing director Anne Palmer said the city centre store in School Street would shut when its lease runs out next month.
Her father launched the business in 1931 and she said the closure was prompted by four retirements and an end to the lease.
