Thousands enjoy Black Country Day weekend

[gallery] Thousands of people flocked to Black Country Day events as a weekend-long celebration got under way.

Live music, themed activities and comedy has brought pride and passion with the Black Country Festival in full flow.

Hundreds of themed events have been taking place to mark the first fully-fledged celebration of Black Country Day.

Families and friends poured into West Park for the newly renamed Wolverhampton and Black Country Show yesterday.

The former City Show continues today with various attractions including a fun fair.

Events also taking place today include a poetry and spoken word festival at Wordsley's Red House Glass Cone, a community fair at The Dell Stadium, in Pensnett, Brierley Hill, and Ommer n Spake, a storytelling and lia ve music event, at Mushroom Green Chain Shop, in Dudley Wood, plus many more.
