West Midlands Fire Service received a call at 10.08am reporting a fire at a facility on Rabone Lane in Smethwick, just a short distance from the train station.
Eight crews are currently in attendance with a high volume pump in use.
It is believed to be a waste fire.
People have been told to avoid the area and to keep windows and doors closed.
