After nearly a week of listening to witnesses for the prosecution allege he indecently assaulted one child and two men in the late 1990s, Dr Aivar Bracka took the stand on the first day of the case for the defence.

Dr Aivar Bracka outlined his impressive career to jurors in the medical world before addressing the charges levelled against him.

Defending Anthony Haycroft KC described Dr Bracka as 'well respected' and 'world renowned' as a medical procedure he invented became common practice across the globe.

Based in Wordsley, Dr Bracka worked as a doctor then a consultant before swapping specialisms to plastic surgery and medical problems with men's genitalia. He was Wordsley Hospital's top consultants known by many for his contributions of TV programmes, when Russells Hall Hospital took over his facility he worked there until 2010. As his services became more in demand an increased volume of patients meant more complaints. The allegations he faces are from the late 1990s.
