Detectives granted more time to question Oldbury murder suspect

Detectives have been granted extra time to question a man on suspicion of the murder of a woman in Oldbury.

Police discovered the woman, aged in her 40s, with serious injuries at an address in Swan Crescent at around 8.20am on Monday (March 31).

She was confirmed dead at the scene.

A 50-year-old man, who West Midlands Police said is understood to be known to the woman, was arrested.

The force confirmed on Tuesday morning (April 1) that detectives had been granted more time to question the suspect.

Blue police tape remained in place around a home on Swan Crescent on Tuesday morning, while an officer stood outside the property.

A bouquet of flowers could also be seen on the driveway of the home.
