Police appeal for help following arson that destroyed a Bilston bus

Police are asking for help in identifying three people they wish to talk to following an arson attack on a bus in Bilston.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of Hall Street and Oxford Street to reports of a fire on the number 39 bus from Bilston bus station. 

The incident took place on Thursday, February 27, at around 3pm, and saw the driver pull over before ensuring everyone got out safely. 

However, the fire resulted in the bus being destroyed, with investigators now working to identify and trace those responsible.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We're investigating after a fire was started on the number 39 bus after it left Bilston bus station and headed along Hall Street and Oxford Street. It was on Thursday, 27 February, at around 3pm and the driver was able to pull over and ensure everyone got off the bus safely. 

"But the fire resulted in the bus being destroyed and investigators are working to identify and trace those responsible. We’d ask any passengers on the bus, who we’ve not yet spoken with, to get in contact with us."
