National Rail said on Thursday (March 27) morning services on the line towards London could face delays of 20 minutes or be diverted.

This is due to a broken down train between Rugby and Milton Keynes Central.

Which routes are affected?

The London Northwestern Railway line between Crewe and London Euston, which stops at Stafford and Lichfield Trent Valley, has been impacted.

Avanti West Coast services between Glasgow Central, Lancaster, Manchester Piccadilly, Liverpool Lime Street, Holyhead, Wrexham General and London Euston have also been affected.

If their Avanti West Coast service is cancelled, passengers have been advised they can use their ticket on one of the two services running immediately before or after their booked train.

Disruption is expected to last until 9.30am.
